Deacon Mike came in for a chat with us today. He told us about Mary getting her name. Mary was the mother of Jesus. Mary was given the name Miriam. She was also given the name Star of the sea. Apparently after 8 days a Hebrew person gets their name. Thanks for popping in Deacon Mike. We love hearing your wonderful stories.
He also helped us with our work on paragraphs. We were writing a paragraph about Mr Macmillan.
He he wrote his own paragraph:
I like teasing Mr MacMillan about rugby. That is because I played rugby for Canterburywhen I was young. Canterbury is in the South Island and is the home of the Crusaders.
The Crusaders are the National rugby Champions and beat the Hurricanes in the semi-finals this year.
Mr Macmillan gets cross with me in a friendly way when I tease him.
